Thank you so much for creating for me! There's a lot of things I like and only a few dealbreakers, so if none of my prompts spark your interest, feel free to go with another idea or something else, as long as my DNWs aren't hit. I know this letter took a while to get up, so if you already started writing something based on my sign up, no worries!

I like this when the loss of control is portrayed as horrifying, but also when it’s just a fun mishap, or leads to characters who are already attracted to each other to finally act on their feelings, or somewhere in between. I love the angsty fall out of it all, but I also like it when no one’s traumatized after and they realized they enjoyed that more than they thought they would and would maybe like to do it again?
☆ Dubious consent due to outside forces, as in: Something Made Them Do It, Fuck or Die, Sex Pollen, Heat Sex, Drugged/Inebriated Sex, Fever Sex. Curses that can only be broken with sex, scenarios where a character is mind controlled or possessed, and made to threaten or hurt a loved one, character turned into a monster and will only turn back if someone has sex with them. Or two parties are forced to fuck by a third party for their entertainment or pleasure via blackmail or coercion. Being forced to be photographed or filmed by a third party to create evidence or blackmail.
☆ Crying, dissociation, trauma, either during or after the act. Character coping badly from rape trauma. Characters coping in unhealthy ways. Characters taking control of the narrative. Rape recovery/rape aftermath is welcome for most of my prompts but not needed or necessary but I love trauma and angsty fall outs!
☆ Loss of virginity/first time, virginity kink, bleeding the first time. Virginity checks, fixation on virginity, aggressors excited to take someone’s virginity, victims hating they’re losing their virginity like this, overwhelming sensation/pleasure-pain they don’t know how to process because they’ve never experienced it before. I’m obsessed with first time sex being unwanted sex or sex that no one consented to. I’m obsessed with bleeding and tearing and walking around later still feeling that pain left behind.
☆ Desperation, begging, aroused victims, victims horrified/confused by their own arousal, victims being ashamed of orgasming, forced orgasms, aggressors invested in their victim’s pleasure, aggressors enjoying making their victim aroused against their will, aggressors getting victims off over and over and rubbing it in their faces. Rapists/aggressors who want their victims to genuinely have a good time, for whatever reason. Victims eager and desperate to come and willing to beg or do anything to make it happen and sate their own lust, or to get it over with.
☆ Painful sex that still gets the victim off, either despite it or because of it. Anal without lube or minimal lube.
☆ Victims resisting, fighting back, or mouthing off, defiant victims. Trying to break someone’s spirit, and failing to do so.

☆ Rape by deception/identity issues. Accidental incest. One party knowing it’s incest and the other not. Deliberately concealing info from another person that would cause consent to be withdrawn.

Just give me absolute mindfucks with the character being in total doubt if their consent.
☆ Statutory rape situations. Underage characters being too young to understand what they’re consenting to. Teenage characters in over their heads. Teens thinking they’re consenting or there’s nothing wrong with what’s happening. Teenagers who just want to please adult characters with sex. Adults convinced they’re not doing anything wrong, this time is special, but they’re not really a pervert. Teenage aggressors/pursuers who don’t realize what they’re doing. Jailbait waits that get cut short. Adults caving into a teenager’s demands/requests and allowing some touching, but not a lot. Adults telling themselves “I’ll only get them off” to convince themselves this is okay. Breaking self-inflicted boundaries.

I adore characters thinking they’re too fucked up, too broken, too far removed from society to ever be loved (and them being proved wrong). I love Lee thinking he somehow deserves his father’s abuse, as much as he hates it—maybe he’s aware of being an eater, maybe it has to do with self-loathing induced via sexual abuse, or he has a strong sense of his own queerness and his father picks up on it. I especially like Lee worrying he’s a monster, because in some ways, he absolutely is, but perhaps not for the reasons he thinks (or maybe he’s 100% percent right).

I am always down for violent revenge, however it happens, especially when it involves cannibalism. I would love to see an up close and personal look at Lee eating his father. I love a whole wide range of emotions—feeling better, relieved afterwards, feeling complicated about not feeling bad, feeling bad for killing their parent despite the abuse, or enjoying the act of violence so much, they worry about what it says about them.
I would also love for Lee to have a special sort of rage against other angry, belligerent men. Maybe he specifically targets them because they remind him of his father.

I love awful first times when that first time is with your dad, and you didn’t even want that at all. But I especially love Lee not wanting it but extremely confused that he orgasmed and not sure what that says about him. I imagine he would have no access to therapy or any resources to help him out so he is just left alone with his thoughts, worrying there’s something wrong with him or unclean, thinking maybe he did want it on some level, if he came.

Very into the idea of Lee doing sex work, and I’m extremely into the idea of Lee having to run away from home after he kills his father because of the suspicion that falls on him and having to turn to sex work to support himself. I love mundane portrayals of sex work, as just another customer service job, but I would also love for a client to attempt to rape him, and he eats him (or actually rapes him, and Lee starts to eat him mid-noncon).
General Prompts:
+ I am so so interested in the whole ‘bones and all’ concept being framed as something that is crossing a line, and learning that Lee crossed that line already with his father. I don’t strictly ship it, exactly, as in, I don’t think Lee has any mutual feelings for him in that way, but I am fascinated by the thought of this undercurrent of sexual violence erupting into real violence between them as he tries to devour Lee and Lee devours him. I love the thought of alcoholism to stave off cannibalism urges, then sexual abuse being something that his father did to stave off the desire to actually consume his son, and Lee wins at the end of the day by consuming him. It’s the ultimate revenge, but also now he’ll never leave you. It’s beautiful and ugly and terrible.
+ Lee, after running away from home. On the run from the law, trying to survive, the specter of his father haunting him all along—maybe as an actual ghost, or just the trauma following him everywhere. He’s trying to get away from what happened but he can’t quite manage it.
+ Lee doing sex work and ending up in a sticky, dangerous, possibly rapey situation. I would love either Lee getting away, or fighting off a rapist, or being raped but eating his rapist after. Alternatively, if you set this in the canon timeline, Maren running in to save him (and they eat the rapist together) would be great.
I am interested in any sort of trauma be falling Lee; I am not interested in post canon fic, because he’s dead, but AUs where he lives and survives are great. Him and Maren finding some sort of happiness together, weird as it is, is great! I did not request the ship because for this specific exchange, I was more interested in Lee’s past, but I love Lee/Maren so much, so anything with Maren involved in a romantic capacity would be wonderful as well.

I requested all of these together because I think the trauma issues genuinely overlap on some level. Brian, Dexter, and Harrison were all born in blood, so they all share fundamentally the same trauma. On some level, I want the same thing for all these ships—two people with a unique trauma come together and find they’re not alone, however ugly the journey or how horrible that coming together is. There’s other elements involved, and I’m very interested in Harrison gen about his past and post canon stuff, but that’s why I grouped these together. Feel free to use any prompt for any ship, even if my prompts lean a specific way or another.

With this tag, I am mainly thinking of Harrison’s overdose in New Blood—I would love any hurt/comfort surrounding that time period, or an AU where Dexter does stay with Harrison afterwards at home to take care of him—but I am also happy to expand on other opportunities for that; maybe Harrison getting high in another situation, and ends up being too honest with Dexter or Brian, or another scary overdose.
I also think it would be extremely fun for drunk or feverish Dexter to end up being too honest or open with his son or with his brother. I love drug-induced or fever induced boundary crossing.

This is fully how I see the vibes between Dexter and Brian, or Dexter & Harrison, or Harrison & Brian and I love codependency stemming from shared or similar trauma. With Dexter/Brian, it’s about how they went through the same exact trauma (and then become serial killers), and with Harrison, I would like him to find his family, who are the only ones who can understand whatever violent urges or feelings he has. From Harrison’s perspective, I love him realizing (whether it’s Dexter, or Brian) the person he’s latched on to is truly—but by then, he’s in to deep to want to break it off, or doesn’t know where else he could go.
✧ Cycles of Violence - Character Has Become Their Abuser

One of my favorite things about New Blood was Dexter acknowledging, even if just via ghost Deb, that Harry abused him, then going right on to do the same thing to Harrison—albeit stemming from a place of more empathy than Harry had for him. At least they’re in the same boat. I love the sick, tragic horror of Dexter knowing that his father training him to be a serial killer ruined him in some way, but going on to do the same thing to Harrison, telling himself it’s for the best and further contributing to his trauma. I love this from Harrison’s perspective as well; maybe Harrison is a little more self-aware of what they’re doing than Dexter is but he allows it, because he just wants to be close to his dad, or maybe he fully buys into everything Dexter is selling. I love the thought of him coming to learn about his father’s past and learn more about him, maybe fully get exactly where he’s coming from, even if Dexter doesn’t outright tell him.
✧ Cycles Of Violence - Victim Becomes Perpetrator In Own Right
It’s stated on the show over and over, Dexter and Brian watch their mother be dismembered in front of them, then go on to dismember their victims, Harrison’s mother was killed with a straight razor, and thus he arms himself with a straight razor to attack. Those implications are so interesting and delicious, and I love this aspect of canon, so feel free to lean into it and run with it.
✧Death/Grief - Character loses loved one and can’t cope; imagines talking to their ghost every day
Like talking to ghost Deb to cope with her death, I would love for Dexter to talk to a ghost Brian, at any point in canon. There was not enough ghost Brian.
Or a Post New Blood AU, with Harrison talking to a ghost, imaginary version of his father. If you go the Brian/Harrison route, running into Brian after New Blood while talking to a Dexter shaped Dark Passenger would be so much fun.
✧ Dynamic - Unhealthily bonding with person who saved you
✧ Scenario - Young vulnerable skilled character sucked into web of older bad manipulative character
Hear me out! Brian saves Harrison from foster care (or any kind of harm, tbh), maybe post New Blood, maybe set between the main series and New Blood, and thus Harrison latches on to him like a baby bird and is over eager to bond with him, even though Brian is the worst person. Brian isn’t trying to manipulate Harrison, exactly, but he does want to feed him the right information to make sure he doesn’t reject him like Dexter did. He has to be careful with him.
Though Dexter is also an older manipulative person, so feel free to apply this to Dexter/Harrison as well. All the unhealthy, twisted codependence, with Harrison manipulated by his father to join him in serial killing.

Dexter’s panic attack and collapse in the blood in Seeing Red is one of my favorite moments in the show. In general, I am fascinated by Dexter fully believing he doesn’t have emotions and he’s fully dead inside, until something just wollaps him and he’s totally unprepared for it.
Hurt/comfort here is great (with Brian or Harrison providing the comfort, however messy that turns out to be), but I’m also into Dexter just trying very hard to get away from his emotions and pretend they’re not there.

A literal haunting, or metaphorical haunting, but a haunting all the same—Harrison haunted by a family legacy of serial killing, especially if he finds out about Brian as well.

I love this for Dexter/Harrison. Harrison blaming Dexter for all the bad things in his life, but as much as he feels that way, he still desperately wants his father in his life.

Consider this an AU prompt with diagnosing either Dexter, Brian or Harrison with Schizophrenia, as a kind of inherited family trait. I like the thought of Harrison inheriting his father’s tendency to talk to dead people, and that led me to imagining what if they both have actual hallucinations, and it was something that could be medicated or given treatment for. I’d love something with Harrison starting to hallucinate his father post canon, then getting a diagnosis and treatment for his issues...but he doesn’t want to stop talking to his dead dad. He misses him.

This works for all the characters I requested 100%, but the canon has fully explored that from Dexter’s perspective, so I would like more fic about Harrison’s exposure to violence as a child and how that affects him, or post canon fic with him killing his father and how that shapes him for the rest of his life. With regards to Brian ships, feel free to explore the way his own violent trauma shaped him into who he was as well.

Oh, I love this with Dexter reassuring Harrison he is not a monster..but not really meaning it. Or hoping he’s wrong deep down. Harrison reassuring he’s not a monster (maybe fully buying into their superhero vigilante narrative) is also tragic for a bunch of different reasons to me as well.
✧Scenario - Take a canon traumatic moment and make it even worse
The sky’s the limit here—have any of the events in New Blood go off the rails a lot sooner, or perhaps Brian’s survival changes a lot of things, so canon events get a lot of worse. Add Brian to the events of New Blood—maybe he seeks out Dexter as well, or maybe he’s already living with Dexter—when Harrison arrives, that would make things even more of a powder keg.
✧ Scenario - Younger Character A is the first person to take Older Character B’s trauma seriously
I would love it if Harrison actually gets to connect with his Uncle Brian and bond with him over shared similar traumas...he’s probably not the first person to take his trauma seriously (Dexter exists) but it’s probably the first time he’s had anyone sincerely emphasize with him, knowing he’s a monster. I’d love this scenario applied to Dexter/Harrison as well. I love that little line in The Family Business from Harrison, “they would have been scared of you” where he’s clearly relating and emphasizing to Dexter hiding his serial killer urges from his mom and Debra, and I’d like to see Harrison offer comfort more openly, and Dexter just not expecting it at all.

This is just so iddy and fun to me...give me Dexter getting revenge on Harrison’s behalf, or perhaps defending Brian from someone, especially in AUs where they grow up together. Brian acting like an overprotective big brother or hurting someone for Harrison is great too.

I am fascinated by Harrison’s capacity for self-harm, and I prompted these with that in mind. Unlike Dexter and Brian, he tends to self-harm to punish himself, like the scene with the baseballs, or uses self-harm in a weaponized way. I’d love to see that worked into fic some more, and Dexter and/or Brian expressing concern and worried about it, trying to make him stop.
As far as daddy issues and rough sex goes, well, Harrison has them in spades, and maybe that unhealthy coping mechanism leads him to Brian.
✧ Underage - Runaway Teen Becomes Sex Worker
Harrison runs away from foster care and turns to turning tricks at truck stops to get enough money to eat. I’d love this explored for solo gen fic or another thing for Dexter to be freaked out and worried about. In general, I love the thought of Harrison doing sex work and getting in over his head in a bad situation (for whump the woobie reasons), but also I love the thought of Harrison ending up in a bad situation and fighting/killing his way out of it. I’d love for Harrison to be a sex worker Brian picks up at one point, either knowing that’s his nephew or not.

This is the whole point of Dexter <3 In terms of ships, I’d love to see how that inability to live normally leads Dexter to Brian, or puts father and son together. Or Harrison moving on post New Blood, not sure how to live like a normal person among normal people now that he has at least one murder under his belt.

+ In general, I’d love to see Dexter and Brian living a life as domestic brother-husband serial killers—settling down somewhere, joining a community. Maybe even pretending to be married. Maybe an AU of New Blood with Brian survived season one like he did in the book and at some point they settle down as a married couple in Iron Lake.
+ After Dexter refuses to kill Debra, Brian kidnaps Dexter instead. I love the thought of control freak Dexter thrown into an out of control situation for once, with him as the victim and hostage. Brian is just convinced that he needs to wear Dexter down to get him to see things his way. Or maybe Brian just keeps Dexter drugged. Feel free to go to a dubcon or noncon place here, though in terms of noncon, I’d prefer Brian to be doing the nonconning out of fucked up twisted love, rather than anger.
+ AU where Harry adopts Brian as well, instead of just Dexter. Does Harry train two serial killer brothers to enact the code? Does he teach them to work together and look out for each other and makes them extra codependent and twisted? What is Dexter like when he has a big brother instead of being Deb’s big brother? + Ghost Brian. Nebraska is one of my favorite episodes and I wish Brian popped around more. I’d love to see him haunting Dexter throughout the entire series. Maybe he sticks around to haunt Dexter, torment him, be the devil on his shoulder after his death or maybe he just keeps popping up every now and then whenever he’s having a moment. Feel free to go with Brian as just one of Dexter’s hallucinations that he conjures up to talk to, or make him an actual restless spirit.
+ Ghost Brian in New Blood. I love the thought of Dexter hallucinating ghost Brian in this era. He starts to show up to encourage Dexter to get back on the serial killing wagon after Dexter kills Matt Caldwell. Maybe the Brain in his head is encouraging Dexter to train Harrison as a serial killer. Feel free to combine this with any Dexter/Harrison prompt.
+ Vampire au! I am a sucker for any kind of vampire AU and I think this canon is perfect for it. I’d love to see vampire Brian return to seduce his human serial killer brother, or post s1 AU where Brian comes back as a vampire for Dexter—but I’d love any take. Maybe Brian and Dexter are both vampires at birth and season one is them finding each other, or Dexter is a vampire but Brian is not. I’d prefer they’d still be serial killers in some way, though.

Dexter: New Blood was probably one of my favorite pieces of media of 2021. It fully ate my brain. I spent the entire season trying hard not to ship these two, then The Family Business happened and I kinda just lost it at all the overwhelming incest subtext. I think once you’re grooming your teenage son to be a serial killer with you, any standard of morality just flies out the window. These are just prompts and my thoughts about them but feel free to write whatever idea you have. I will pretty eagerly devour any fic for this pairing.
+ I fully support Harrison's decision to kill Dexter in the finale—if anything, it just made me ship it harder; murder between two people who love each other is my jam, especially with Dexter coaching Harrison through it—but I also thought we didn't have nearly enough time with them on the same page. I'd love to see a longer, more drawn out version of events of "The Family Business" where Dexter has more time to teach Harrison the code and Harrison has more time to get his hands dirty. I love for the honeymoon period for them to last several months at least before things fall apart. AU where Angela never went to the conference in New York and thus never had any reason to suspect Jim was Dexter, basically. AU where you can explore the emotional aftermath of killing Kurt without having to worry about the law breathing down their necks just yet. Let Harrison and Dexter have more time to bond!
+ Anything exploring the sheer loneliness both these two feel, their alienation from society due to (different flavors of) violent impulses, and how those feelings of alienation and isolation and need for connection bring them together. What does it mean to you when you have violent thoughts and urges and then your dad tells you this runs in the family, and that he’s the only one who can understand you, and his solution is murder? What does that do to an already fucked up kid?
+ Harrison’s POV. Just anything with Harrison’s POV. We’re so deep in Dexter’s perspective on the show with his voiceover, that I’d love to see whatever dark creepy thoughts are crawling around in Harrison’s head; and I’m fascinated by how badly Dexter comes off to Harrison when you can’t hear his emotional monologue about how much he loves his son. I haven’t been okay since I read Scott Reynolds’ tweets and he described Harrison thinking “this is destiny’ when Dexter explains himself in The Family Business about him and Dexter, tbh.
+ I feel there’s something subtextually sexual about watching Dexter stab someone in such a ritualized manner, and I was very into the interplay of emotions on both of them, especially how Harrison seemed both horrified and entranced at the same time, and I would like you to expand on that. Maybe it stays subtext and lean into the raw emotional intimacy and how exposed Dexter is in front of someone who matters so much to him, or make it full text—maybe Harrison gets turned on, or can’t stop thinking about it or the ride home is full of UST. Neither of them really know what to do with these feelings.
+ Alternatively, a version of events where Dexter offers Harrison the knife. Kurt tried to kill him after all, so it’s only fair he draw first blood.
+ Alternative to that, I’d love to see something further down the line—months later, a year later, and it’s Harrison making his first kill with Dexter present.
+ I loved Harrison hearing his father has a kill count of 100+ and looking at him like he’s a superhero for it. If the finale never happened the way it did, with Logan dead, does he continue to think his dad is some kind of vigilante hero? Does Dexter continue to encourage that line of thought to manipulate him? He always did want to be someone’s hero. Or I’d also love to see Harrison eventually coming to realize “oh, my dad is America's most prolific serial killer”and maybe even connect the dots between his dad and The Bay Harbor Butcher, but by that point, Harrison has been training to follow in his footsteps and it’s too late to back out. Or maybe he really doesn’t care about why Dexter does what he does as long as Dexter doesn’t leave him again. Maybe that’s all he cares about.
+ I’m very into Harrison not having an urge to kill in the same way as Dexter does—maybe he has violent thoughts and impulses, but not the serial killer desire like Dexter has, more of a rage that’s constantly boiling under the surface—but he chooses to let Dexter guide him into murder, because he’s so affection and love-starved, and Dexter’s never as affectionate as when he’s teaching him about violence. Murder to win your dad’s love.
+ On a somewhat messy, similar note, Harrison harboring sexual feelings/fixation for his father and Dexter not sharing it (or not sharing it right away), sort of a parallel to the Dexter/Deb relationship in season seven. Maybe Dexter finds out or picks up on it and Dexter has to try to let him down gently while also navigating their weird serial killer grooming relationship. I particularly love the possibility of Harrison being more sexually experienced than Dexter, even though Dexter is older—maybe Harrison knows more about sex with a man than Dexter? But approach it however you like—mainly, I love the thought of Harrison’s normal loving son feelings getting all twisted up by their mutual dark passengers into something dark and Dexter caught off guard but maybe willing to go with it. Harrison is love starved but Dexter’s perpetually hungry for unconditional love and acceptance—maybe this is how they click together.
+ Hurt/comfort, in a twisted way. Dexter changing Harrison’s bandage from stabbing himself, or maybe seeing the bruises from the baseballs on his chest and ribs. Harrison needing something more from Dexter after nearly being killed but not sure how to ask for it. Bedsharing (I mean Harrison just has a cot) that escalates or just very inappropriate closeness.
+ Someone hurts Harrison (a former foster parent, a teacher, a bully) or hurt him in the past (you decide the level and kind of hurt). Dexter decides to kill them. Harrison wants to be a part of it. I am down for whatever level of hurt you like, from attempted murder or physical abuse or prolonged sexual abuse.
+ Harrison feeling guilty about his dark urges. Dexter coaxing them out of him and telling him he never has to feel bad again as long as he’s with him. On a similar note, Harrison with a murder/violence kink that he feels ashamed of, but Dexter decides to encourage it. Dexter really desperate for Harrison to not grow up like he did, and not wanting him to feel the way he did when Harry saw the aftermath of his kill. So he is a really supportive murder dad.
+ Post canon AU where Dexter and Harrison move to go do their serial killing elsewhere. I want to see the Bonnie&Clyde father/son serial killing duo actually evolve. Dexter teaching him how to stalk and hunt and find out if someone fit the code, Harrison trying to prove himself, them killing people together, them bonding <3
+ Post canon fic where Dexter is now the dark passenger that Harrison talks to. Killing his dad didn't break the cycle; it just means he'll be haunted by his father for the rest of his life. Does he want to keep talking to his dead father? Does head Dexter encourage Harrison to kill people? Does Harrison resent this or does he miss him more than he resents him? I love the idea of Harrison trying to bury whatever inside him wants to hurt people with his father’s death but head Dexter keeps encouraging violence and murder. Feel free to get as wild or crazy with this. Dead people hallucinations on this show means you can really get out there with them.
+ This is wild but vampire au? I’m a sucker for vampires and an actual literal thrist for blood justifies Dexter’s actions a little bit more. However you want to take it—maybe Dexter has become a vampire in between the season 8 finale and New Blood, and finds this works out better for him. Maybe it’s a full AU where Dexter’s a serial killer because he’s a vampire, and the problem turns out to be hereditary (maybe Brian was one too), so it’s Dexter’s duty to teach Harrison. Or maybe Harrison is a vampire, who got turned into one at some point in foster care, and that’s the dark secret he’s hiding from Dexter who is sure his dad will never accept or be okay with it. Just sure of it. There’s something extremely twisty about Harrison turning his dad into more of a monster, so I am just fascinated by that.
+ Or in a similar vein, what if Dexter/Bones and All fusion? I’d love for Harrison to be an eater. Maybe Dexter is as well and it’s a passed on, family trait, and this is an AU where they’re both struggling with that. Or maybe Dexter is just a normal serial killer, but Harrison is a eater and has a constant craving to eat human flesh. I find canon Dexter’s aversion to cannibalism hilarious and would love to see him have to struggle with a cannibal son. I guess he’ll come around, because it’s not as if Harrison can help what he feels. Dexter can certainly relate to that.
+ The really creepy AU where Dexter does raise Harrison his whole life, but things still end up in a creepy serial killer incest place for them. Maybe Dexter runs away from Miami but takes Harrison with him, and Harrison grows up completely codependent on his dad, moving place to place with him. Or maybe Dexter never leaves Miami and raises Harrison there, just the two of them, but teenage Harrison is starting to notice his father’s habits—I love the thought of him getting old enough to notice him sneaking out and hiding things and maybe trying to break into his shed or find his secret murder stash. I mainly love the thought of Dexter being an actual good dad for once, but still hiding the real him so to speak. Maybe Harrison starts to have his murder Trinity fantasies while living with his Dad and tells him about them and things go from there.

I recently got obsessed with this due to reasons—what if they met!? I deeply want Harrison to know his uncle. I love the thought of Brian finding Harrison before Dexter and being ten times more of an inappropriate parental figure to Harrison than Dexter, teaching Harrison how to be a good serial killer with no code at all. I love the thought of Brian seeing in Harrison a second chance, a do-over, that he didn’t get with Dexter, and Harrison looking for love and affection in all the wrong places.
AU where Brian never died, like the novel version of Dexter. Feel free to run with whatever impact or changes that AU would have on the verse—Dexter never kills Brian and lets him go, or perhaps Brian was also adopted by Harry, Brian goes into hiding so Dexter has no way of getting into contact with him. Perhaps Brian and Dexter were estranged at the time of Dexter’s “death” and Brian decides to steal/kidnap Harrison and raise himself. I'd really rather not want any sexual content with Harrison under thirteen but feel free to lean into any creepiness with Brian raising Harrison himself and teaching him how to be like him.
Alternatively, Harrison goes looking for his father and finds Brian instead. Or Brian rescues Harrison from an abusive foster care section.That’s not his father, but he’ll take a distant uncle. Family is hard to come by.
I would especially love it if Harrison has urges to kill or violent thoughts and fantasies he keeps trying to hide from Brian, and Brian immediately clocks it.But it’s okay—he’s going to be very supportive of his nephew’s urges. I love Harrison and Brian bonding over both their shared love for Dexter, and the shared feelings of rejection they have, and forming their own bond because of it. I am also very into Brian ending up in the perfect position to groom Harrison into a life of crime by being the only one who is there for Harrison. Maybe Harrison doesn’t want to hurt innocent people but he’s also young enough to be guided or shaped in a different direction than he ended up in New Blood.
Post canon. Harrison is lost after the events of New Blood, and somehow manages to track down his uncle. Maybe Dexter told Harrison who Brian is but not his crimes, or maybe Harrison knows everything Dexter knows. I am totally fine with Harrison killing Brian; I’d love to see a cat and mouse game, with Harrison knowing he should kill him, maybe even planning to do that but he can’t make himself do it right away. Maybe he regrets killing Dexter and wants to get it right with Brian. Or maybe he doesn’t know Brian is a serial killer and slowly discovers this about him.
Vampire AU! Basically any of the above prompts but with added vampirism. Vampire Brian teaching his baby vampire nephew. Or maybe Brian turning Harrison into a vampire.
Or AU where Brian is a ghost, haunting Dexter, who starts to haunt Harrison as well.

Solo: Harrison Morgan (Dexter TV)
I am really just fascinated by Harrison and want to know everything about him. He was my new favorite character in New Blood. I love the mixture of his manipulative streak, his social graces and his vulnerability and trauma, of him being legit just a mixed up teenager, but also having all this potential for becoming something a lot darker and scarier. He has a strong sense of justice and fairness, but also threw his only friend to the wolves, and I love that dichotomy.
+ Post canon. Where does he go from here? The show implies he’s broken the cycle of violence but this is fanfic—is he really free of his violent impulses/urges or do they get worse now that he’s had his first kill? Where does he go after being effectively kicked out of the only home he had? I would love to see him with Dexter as a ghost talking to him, or a kind of dark passenger, and how that works out.
+ Harrison moves in with either Astor or Cody or both. In general, I am curious what his interactions would be with his half-siblings—they both share the trauma of their mother’s death but they’re also more “normal” than Harrison ever will be. Maybe post Iron Lake, he finds his way to them. Did they ever look for him once they got older? Is Harrison angry about that? Would Astor be suspicious of him because she remembers Dexter the clearest and she doesn’t have entirely good memories of him.
+ How did he get to Iron Lake? What do the post Hannah, pre Dexter years look like for him? I feel like a lot of trauma happened to Harrison there that shaped him in addition to the pain of being abandoned by his dad and I’d love to really dig into it.
+ It strikes me that Harrison’s most long term parent was actually Hannah, of all people, and she probably had the most influence on him—which makes sense to me, because Hannah was also very good at being social and manipulative, skills Harrison excels at. I want to know more about their time together and what lessons and skills she passed on, how she handled being a solo new parent in a foreign country. I find it fascinating because Hannah is also a killer, and I wonder if she’s responsible for some of Harrison’s moral flexibility. Maybe she’s not like Dexter in the sense that she ever groom
+ AU where Harrison doesn’t get sent away by Angela. Maybe he kills Dexter, and instead Angela decides to let him move in with them—maybe just for a little while, until they figure out where Harrison can go. What are the dynamics in that household like after Harrison kills Dexter?
+ I would love to see a post canon world where Dexter is dead and known as the Bay Harbor Butcher (and arguably the most prolific American serial killer of all time???), and Harrison has to live in the shadow of that. Give me newspaper articles, interviews, people talking about him behind his back, and Harrison trying to move to a new school with that hanging over him. Especially if he still has some violent urges but now is living under a microscope.
+ I know I request a lot of Dexter/Harrison things but I would love any platonic interactions as well, especially bonding over serial killing and violent urges and generally being set apart from everyone else. I also loved it whenever Harrison was mean to Dexter and how he could win every argument by pulling the ‘well, you abandoned me” card so more of that would be great.

I love Malvado’s brand of being a terrible rapist—he wants to own Kisa and make her his captive but he’s also convinced the Geckos ~kidnapped her and he needs to get her back. He sees her as a goddess and he elevates her above all others in his court (but never him). I wonder if he thought she would eventually come around to him with enough time but centuries pass and she still hates everything about her life.

Day in the life of Kisa trying to survive Malvado—obviously, rape is a foregone conclusion that I imagine she’s given up on trying to prevent, maybe she even acts like a dutiful girlfriend or kept woman in their alone time—but I would love to see her try to keep some things to herself, and the way she slowly starts to enact her plan. Venganza has a line about how a slave cannot love her monster, but she played the part and I imagine that’s how a lot of Kisa’s interactions must have gone with Malvado.
+ Anything exploring the slow slide from Kisa, young village girl, to Santanico Pandemonium, to Kisa again.

I want Kate having every reason to hate Seth, and maybe being unkind or nasty to him, but unable to keep herself from sympathazing with him and what he’s gone through, relating to his pain of losing their family, the two of them being kept together by that. In terms of Kate/Richie, I want almost the same things, but feel free to go in a more shippier direction with them. I do really love their canon interactions, with Kate defending Richie and believing there’s some good in him, and how that crumbles in season two. In general, I like the trope of two people going through trauma clinging to each other, except with Seth and Kate, that codependency doesn’t actually make their lives better or provide comfort. It just makes things worse.
+ Seth getting high on heroin and the things Kate has to endure from him while he’s high. Having to take care of her kidnapper and make sure he doesn’t choke on his own vomit. Seth in general, being a hot mess, and Kate having to deal with (or opting to not deal with it! She just leaves him to his own devices and doesn’t come back to the motel room for a while).
+ In general, I am fascinated by their pairing because I think Kate needs an adult in Mexico to get around and support her in some way but Seth is also the worst adult, and Kate ends up taking care of him more often than not.
+ Also, Kate getting Seth high because he asked her to and it makes her sooo uncomfortable. How did she end up in this situation? Or Kate doing it to end an argument or get away from him.
+ I loved Kate telling him she didn’t forgive him in S3, even after he was trying so hard to save her. The show never really had time to linger and explore those feelings, but I would like to. Kate is a good Christian girl and she also has a lot of empathy for Seth as well but the demon possessing her brings out all those ugly negative emotions she tries to hide.
+ I’ve been haunted by that “Kate as Richie’s knife throwing girl” comment since she said it. I would love to see them as a pair and making money that way.
+ I really love Kate’s defense of Richie to Freddie when she tries to insist he can’t be a serial killer. And she’s right! But he’s still a terrible person so I’d love to lean into the vibes of her being fascinated, sympathetic towards him and scared of him all at once.
+ Any instance of vampire Richie and human Kate stuck together; him having to take care of her or keep her safe, Kate being around this big guy she had a crush on when he was human, and still has a crush on now even when he’s terrifying and has sharp teeth.

I also love the effects of long term captivity on her, and how strange and alien it feels to be free after all the time.

Very into the idea of Lee doing sex work, and I’m extremely into the idea of Lee having to run away from home after he kills his father because of the suspicion that falls on him and having to turn to sex work to support himself. I love mundane portrayals of sex work, as just another customer service job, but I would also love for a client to attempt to rape him, and he eats him (or actually rapes him, and Lee starts to eat him mid-noncon).
I was really fascinated by Lee's relationship with his father, the hints of violence just off screen, the clear trauma and abuse he inflicted on him, the little smile on his face when he says "I ate him right the fuck up." I would love anything that just dives right into it, whether in a gen way or exploring Lee's father as sexually abusive figure. I am very fascinated by the implications of Lee's dad also being an eater, and tangling up the violent implications with the potential for sexual abuse but also just exploring what it means to devour your father.
+ I am so so interested in the whole ‘bones and all’ concept being framed as something that is crossing a line, and learning that Lee crossed that line already with his father. I don’t strictly ship it, exactly, as in, I don’t think Lee has any mutual feelings for him in that way, but I am fascinated by the thought of this undercurrent of sexual violence erupting into real violence between them as he tries to devour Lee and Lee devours him. I love the thought of alcoholism to stave off cannibalism urges, then sexual abuse being something that his father did to stave off the desire to actually consume his son, and Lee wins at the end of the day by consuming him. It’s the ultimate revenge, but also now he’ll never leave you. It’s beautiful and ugly and terrible.

From Harrison’s perspective, I love him realizing (whether it’s Dexter, or Brian) the person he’s latched on to is truly—but by then, he’s in to deep to want to break it off, or doesn’t know where else he could go.

One of my favorite things about New Blood was Dexter acknowledging, even if just via ghost Deb, that Harry abused him, then going right on to do the same thing to Harrison—albeit stemming from a place of more empathy than Harry had for him. At least they’re in the same boat. I love the sick, tragic horror of Dexter knowing that his father training him to be a serial killer ruined him in some way, but going on to do the same thing to Harrison, telling himself it’s for the best and further contributing to his trauma. I love this from Harrison’s perspective as well; maybe Harrison is a little more self-aware of what they’re doing than Dexter is but he allows it, because he just wants to be close to his dad, or maybe he fully buys into everything Dexter is selling. I love the thought of him coming to learn about his father’s past and learn more about him, maybe fully get exactly where he’s coming from, even if Dexter doesn’t outright tell him.
✧ Cycles Of Violence - Victim Becomes Perpetrator In Own Right
It’s stated on the show over and over, Dexter and Brian watch their mother be dismembered in front of them, then go on to dismember their victims, Harrison’s mother was killed with a straight razor, and thus he arms himself with a straight razor to attack. Those implications are so interesting and delicious, and I love this aspect of canon, so feel free to lean into it and run with it.

Hear me out! Brian saves Harrison from foster care (or any kind of harm, tbh), maybe post New Blood, maybe set between the main series and New Blood, and thus Harrison latches on to him like a baby bird and is over eager to bond with him, even though Brian is the worst person. Brian isn’t trying to manipulate Harrison, exactly, but he does want to feed him the right information to make sure he doesn’t reject him like Dexter did. He has to be careful with him.
Though Dexter is also an older manipulative person, so feel free to apply this to Dexter/Harrison as well. All the unhealthy, twisted codependence, with Harrison manipulated by his father to join him in serial killing.

Dexter’s panic attack and collapse in the blood in Seeing Red is one of my favorite moments in the show. In general, I am fascinated by Dexter fully believing he doesn’t have emotions and he’s fully dead inside, until something just wollaps him and he’s totally unprepared for it.
Hurt/comfort here is great (with Brian or Harrison providing the comfort, however messy that turns out to be), but I’m also into Dexter just trying very hard to get away from his emotions and pretend they’re not there.

I’d love something with Harrison starting to hallucinate his father post canon, then getting a diagnosis and treatment for his issues...but he doesn’t want to stop talking to his dead dad. He misses him.

✧Scenario - Take a canon traumatic moment and make it even worse
The sky’s the limit here—have any of the events in New Blood go off the rails a lot sooner, or perhaps Brian’s survival changes a lot of things, so canon events get a lot of worse. Add Brian to the events of New Blood—maybe he seeks out Dexter as well, or maybe he’s already living with Dexter—when Harrison arrives, that would make things even more of a powder keg.

I would love it if Harrison actually gets to connect with his Uncle Brian and bond with him over shared similar traumas...he’s probably not the first person to take his trauma seriously (Dexter exists) but it’s probably the first time he’s had anyone sincerely emphasize with him, knowing he’s a monster. I’d love this scenario applied to Dexter/Harrison as well. I love that little line in The Family Business from Harrison, “they would have been scared of you” where he’s clearly relating and emphasizing to Dexter hiding his serial killer urges from his mom and Debra, and I’d like to see Harrison offer comfort more openly, and Dexter just not expecting it at all.

I am fascinated by Harrison’s capacity for self-harm, and I prompted these with that in mind. Unlike Dexter and Brian, he tends to self-harm to punish himself, like the scene with the baseballs, or uses self-harm in a weaponized way. I’d love to see that worked into fic some more, and Dexter and/or Brian expressing concern and worried about it, trying to make him stop.
As far as daddy issues and rough sex goes, well, Harrison has them in spades, and maybe that unhealthy coping mechanism leads him to Brian.

Harrison runs away from foster care and turns to turning tricks at truck stops to get enough money to eat. I’d love this explored for solo gen fic or another thing for Dexter to be freaked out and worried about. In general, I love the thought of Harrison doing sex work and getting in over his head in a bad situation (for whump the woobie reasons), but also I love the thought of Harrison ending up in a bad situation and fighting/killing his way out of it. I’d love for Harrison to be a sex worker Brian picks up at one point, either knowing that’s his nephew or not.

This is the whole point of Dexter <3 In terms of ships, I’d love to see how that inability to live normally leads Dexter to Brian, or puts father and son together. Or Harrison moving on post New Blood, not sure how to live like a normal person among normal people now that he has at least one murder under his belt.
Isn't this the perfect canon for this exchange? Isn't Dexter all about the way trauma changes you forever and serial killing as a terribad coping mechanism that can be passed down through the bloodlines?
For this request, I am really into exploring the "born in blood" concept for these three characters, and I especially love traumatized people bonding together through murder and violence. One of my favorite things is Dexter longing so much for connection and only finding it in horribly inappropriate ways, such as his brother, or his son. I am VERY into Dexter (Or Brian!) trying to drag Harrison down into serial killing with them, whether Harrison takes to it or not.
For Harrison solo, I adore him, I would eat up any pre-series, or post canon fic. I'm fascinated by the trauma that's only hinted at in New Blood itself ("foster care was a special kind of hell") and the impact they have him. I'd love to see him how he lives on after the series, with hallucination!Dexter talking to him or maybe running into Brian in an AU where he never died.

+ I’d love anything expanding on Brian’s plan to win over Dexter, the careful planning and preparation it took and the identity porn of “Rudy” seducing Dexter while dating Debra. I’d love a much longer term seduction process of Brian trying to worm his way into Debra’s life and becoming closer to Dexter by extension. Maybe he commits to marrying Debra and there’s all kinds of twisty shenanigans of Brian trying to seduce Dexter or get closer to him while dragging him along wedding prep and making him his best man. Just feel free to draw out the cat and mouse game of S1 into something bigger and longer. Feel free to combine this prompt with the Dexter/Brian/Deb one as well.
+ Brian doesn’t make Dexter kill Debra. He picks someone else, maybe a coworker, maybe a stranger, something to signify cutting ties to his old life but not her. He succeeds and Dexter goes on a murder roadtrip with Brain. I’m fine if this is a happily ever after for them, maybe with them moving from place to place, or if they eventually get caught and this is a last hurrah, and they get to have their Freebird ending (I am okay with killing them both off in this scenario). They broke the code, so Dexter knows this won’t last.
+ In general, I’d love to see Dexter and Brian living a life as domestic brother-husband serial killers—settling down somewhere, joining a community. Maybe even pretending to be married. Maybe an AU of New Blood with Brian survived season one like he did in the book and at some point they settle down as a married couple in Iron Lake.
+ After Dexter refuses to kill Debra, Brian kidnaps Dexter instead. I love the thought of control freak Dexter thrown into an out of control situation for once, with him as the victim and hostage. Brian is just convinced that he needs to wear Dexter down to get him to see things his way. Or maybe Brian just keeps Dexter drugged. Feel free to go to a dubcon or noncon place here, though in terms of noncon, I’d prefer Brian to be doing the nonconning out of fucked up twisted love, rather than anger.
+ AU where Harry adopts Brian as well, instead of just Dexter. Does Harry train two serial killer brothers to enact the code? Does he teach them to work together and look out for each other and makes them extra codependent and twisted? What is Dexter like when he has a big brother instead of being Deb’s big brother? What are the family dynamics like with Briain in the mix? Is Brian the more dominant of the two or do he and Dexter end up clashing over methods? I’m just fascinated by AUs where they get to grow up together!
+ Ghost Brian. Nebraska is one of my favorite episodes and I wish Brian popped around more. I’d love to see him haunting Dexter throughout the entire series. Maybe he sticks around to haunt Dexter, torment him, be the devil on his shoulder after his death or maybe he just keeps popping up every now and then whenever he’s having a moment. Feel free to go with Brian as just one of Dexter’s hallucinations that he conjures up to talk to, or make him an actual restless spirit.
+ Ghost Brian in New Blood. I love the thought of Dexter hallucinating ghost Brian in this era. He starts to show up to encourage Dexter to get back on the serial killing wagon after Dexter kills Matt Caldwell. Maybe the Brain in his head is encouraging Dexter to train Harrison as a serial killer. Feel free to combine this with any Dexter/Harrison prompt.
+ Vampire au! I am a sucker for any kind of vampire AU and I think this canon is perfect for it. I’d love to see vampire Brian return to seduce his human serial killer brother, or post s1 AU where Brian comes back as a vampire for Dexter—but I’d love any take. Maybe Brian and Dexter are both vampires at birth and season one is them finding each other, or Dexter is a vampire but Brian is not. I’d prefer they’d still be serial killers in some way, though.

Dexter: New Blood was probably one of my favorite pieces of media of 2021. It fully ate my brain. I spent the entire season trying hard not to ship these two, then The Family Business happened and I kinda just lost it at all the overwhelming incest subtext. I think once you’re grooming your teenage son to be a serial killer with you, any standard of morality just flies out the window. These are just prompts and my thoughts about them but feel free to write whatever idea you have. I will pretty eagerly devour any fic for this pairing.
+ I fully support Harrison's decision to kill Dexter in the finale—if anything, it just made me ship it harder; murder between two people who love each other is my jam, especially with Dexter coaching Harrison through it—but I also thought we didn't have nearly enough time with them on the same page. I'd love to see a longer, more drawn out version of events of "The Family Business" where Dexter has more time to teach Harrison the code and Harrison has more time to get his hands dirty. I love for the honeymoon period for them to last several months at least before things fall apart. AU where Angela never went to the conference in New York and thus never had any reason to suspect Jim was Dexter, basically. AU where you can explore the emotional aftermath of killing Kurt without having to worry about the law breathing down their necks just yet. Let Harrison and Dexter have more time to bond!
+ Anything exploring the sheer loneliness both these two feel, their alienation from society due to (different flavors of) violent impulses, and how those feelings of alienation and isolation and need for connection bring them together. What does it mean to you when you have violent thoughts and urges and then your dad tells you this runs in the family, and that he’s the only one who can understand you, and his solution is murder? What does that do to an already fucked up kid?
+ Harrison’s POV. Just anything with Harrison’s POV. We’re so deep in Dexter’s perspective on the show with his voiceover, that I’d love to see whatever dark creepy thoughts are crawling around in Harrison’s head; and I’m fascinated by how badly Dexter comes off to Harrison when you can’t hear his emotional monologue about how much he loves his son. I haven’t been okay since I read Scott Reynolds’ tweets and he described Harrison thinking “this is destiny’ when Dexter explains himself in The Family Business about him and Dexter, tbh.
+ I feel there’s something subtextually sexual about watching Dexter stab someone in such a ritualized manner, and I was very into the interplay of emotions on both of them, especially how Harrison seemed both horrified and entranced at the same time, and I would like you to expand on that. Maybe it stays subtext and lean into the raw emotional intimacy and how exposed Dexter is in front of someone who matters so much to him, or make it full text—maybe Harrison gets turned on, or can’t stop thinking about it or the ride home is full of UST. Neither of them really know what to do with these feelings.
+ Alternatively, a version of events where Dexter offers Harrison the knife. Kurt tried to kill him after all, so it’s only fair he draw first blood.
+ Alternative to that, I’d love to see something further down the line—months later, a year later, and it’s Harrison making his first kill with Dexter present.
+ I loved Harrison hearing his father has a kill count of 100+ and looking at him like he’s a superhero for it. If the finale never happened the way it did, with Logan dead, does he continue to think his dad is some kind of vigilante hero? Does Dexter continue to encourage that line of thought to manipulate him? He always did want to be someone’s hero. Or I’d also love to see Harrison eventually coming to realize “oh, my dad is America's most prolific serial killer”and maybe even connect the dots between his dad and The Bay Harbor Butcher, but by that point, Harrison has been training to follow in his footsteps and it’s too late to back out. Or maybe he really doesn’t care about why Dexter does what he does as long as Dexter doesn’t leave him again. Maybe that’s all he cares about.
+ I’m very into Harrison not having an urge to kill in the same way as Dexter does—maybe he has violent thoughts and impulses, but not the serial killer desire like Dexter has, more of a rage that’s constantly boiling under the surface—but he chooses to let Dexter guide him into murder, because he’s so affection and love-starved, and Dexter’s never as affectionate as when he’s teaching him about violence. Murder to win your dad’s love.
+ On a somewhat messy, similar note, Harrison harboring sexual feelings/fixation for his father and Dexter not sharing it (or not sharing it right away), sort of a parallel to the Dexter/Deb relationship in season seven. Maybe Dexter finds out or picks up on it and Dexter has to try to let him down gently while also navigating their weird serial killer grooming relationship. I particularly love the possibility of Harrison being more sexually experienced than Dexter, even though Dexter is older—maybe Harrison knows more about sex with a man than Dexter? But approach it however you like—mainly, I love the thought of Harrison’s normal loving son feelings getting all twisted up by their mutual dark passengers into something dark and Dexter caught off guard but maybe willing to go with it. Harrison is love starved but Dexter’s perpetually hungry for unconditional love and acceptance—maybe this is how they click together.
+ Hurt/comfort, in a twisted way. Dexter changing Harrison’s bandage from stabbing himself, or maybe seeing the bruises from the baseballs on his chest and ribs. Harrison needing something more from Dexter after nearly being killed but not sure how to ask for it. Bedsharing (I mean Harrison just has a cot) that escalates or just very inappropriate closeness.
+ Someone hurts Harrison (a former foster parent, a teacher, a bully) or hurt him in the past (you decide the level and kind of hurt). Dexter decides to kill them. Harrison wants to be a part of it. I am down for whatever level of hurt you like, from attempted murder or physical abuse or prolonged sexual abuse.
+ Harrison feeling guilty about his dark urges. Dexter coaxing them out of him and telling him he never has to feel bad again as long as he’s with him. On a similar note, Harrison with a murder/violence kink that he feels ashamed of, but Dexter decides to encourage it. Dexter really desperate for Harrison to not grow up like he did, and not wanting him to feel the way he did when Harry saw the aftermath of his kill. So he is a really supportive murder dad.
+ Post canon AU where Dexter and Harrison move to go do their serial killing elsewhere. I want to see the Bonnie&Clyde father/son serial killing duo actually evolve. Dexter teaching him how to stalk and hunt and find out if someone fit the code, Harrison trying to prove himself, them killing people together, them bonding <3
+ Post canon fic where Dexter is now the dark passenger that Harrison talks to. Killing his dad didn't break the cycle; it just means he'll be haunted by his father for the rest of his life. Does he want to keep talking to his dead father? Does head Dexter encourage Harrison to kill people? Does Harrison resent this or does he miss him more than he resents him? I love the idea of Harrison trying to bury whatever inside him wants to hurt people with his father’s death but head Dexter keeps encouraging violence and murder. Feel free to get as wild or crazy with this. Dead people hallucinations on this show means you can really get out there with them.
+ This is wild but vampire au? I’m a sucker for vampires and an actual literal thrist for blood justifies Dexter’s actions a little bit more. However you want to take it—maybe Dexter has become a vampire in between the season 8 finale and New Blood, and finds this works out better for him. Maybe it’s a full AU where Dexter’s a serial killer because he’s a vampire, and the problem turns out to be hereditary (maybe Brian was one too), so it’s Dexter’s duty to teach Harrison. Or maybe Harrison is a vampire, who got turned into one at some point in foster care, and that’s the dark secret he’s hiding from Dexter who is sure his dad will never accept or be okay with it. Just sure of it. There’s something extremely twisty about Harrison turning his dad into more of a monster, so I am just fascinated by that.
+ Or in a similar vein, what if Dexter/Bones and All fusion? I’d love for Harrison to be an eater. Maybe Dexter is as well and it’s a passed on, family trait, and this is an AU where they’re both struggling with that. Or maybe Dexter is just a normal serial killer, but Harrison is a eater and has a constant craving to eat human flesh. I find canon Dexter’s aversion to cannibalism hilarious and would love to see him have to struggle with a cannibal son. I guess he’ll come around, because it’s not as if Harrison can help what he feels. Dexter can certainly relate to that.
+ The really creepy AU where Dexter does raise Harrison his whole life, but things still end up in a creepy serial killer incest place for them. Maybe Dexter runs away from Miami but takes Harrison with him, and Harrison grows up completely codependent on his dad, moving place to place with him. Or maybe Dexter never leaves Miami and raises Harrison there, just the two of them, but teenage Harrison is starting to notice his father’s habits—I love the thought of him getting old enough to notice him sneaking out and hiding things and maybe trying to break into his shed or find his secret murder stash. I mainly love the thought of Dexter being an actual good dad for once, but still hiding the real him so to speak. Maybe Harrison starts to have his murder Trinity fantasies while living with his Dad and tells him about them and things go from there.

I recently got obsessed with this due to reasons—what if they met!? I deeply want Harrison to know his uncle. I love the thought of Brian finding Harrison before Dexter and being ten times more of an inappropriate parental figure to Harrison than Dexter, teaching Harrison how to be a good serial killer with no code at all. I love the thought of Brian seeing in Harrison a second chance, a do-over, that he didn’t get with Dexter, and Harrison looking for love and affection in all the wrong places.
AU where Brian never died, like the novel version of Dexter. Feel free to run with whatever impact or changes that AU would have on the verse—Dexter never kills Brian and lets him go, or perhaps Brian was also adopted by Harry, Brian goes into hiding so Dexter has no way of getting into contact with him. Perhaps Brian and Dexter were estranged at the time of Dexter’s “death” and Brian decides to steal/kidnap Harrison and raise himself. I'd really rather not want any sexual content with Harrison under thirteen but feel free to lean into any creepiness with Brian raising Harrison himself and teaching him how to be like him.
Alternatively, Harrison goes looking for his father and finds Brian instead. Or Brian rescues Harrison from an abusive foster care section.That’s not his father, but he’ll take a distant uncle. Family is hard to come by.
I would especially love it if Harrison has urges to kill or violent thoughts and fantasies he keeps trying to hide from Brian, and Brian immediately clocks it.But it’s okay—he’s going to be very supportive of his nephew’s urges. I love Harrison and Brian bonding over both their shared love for Dexter, and the shared feelings of rejection they have, and forming their own bond because of it. I am also very into Brian ending up in the perfect position to groom Harrison into a life of crime by being the only one who is there for Harrison. Maybe Harrison doesn’t want to hurt innocent people but he’s also young enough to be guided or shaped in a different direction than he ended up in New Blood.
Post canon. Harrison is lost after the events of New Blood, and somehow manages to track down his uncle. Maybe Dexter told Harrison who Brian is but not his crimes, or maybe Harrison knows everything Dexter knows. I am totally fine with Harrison killing Brian; I’d love to see a cat and mouse game, with Harrison knowing he should kill him, maybe even planning to do that but he can’t make himself do it right away. Maybe he regrets killing Dexter and wants to get it right with Brian. Or maybe he doesn’t know Brian is a serial killer and slowly discovers this about him.
Vampire AU! Basically any of the above prompts but with added vampirism. Vampire Brian teaching his baby vampire nephew. Or maybe Brian turning Harrison into a vampire.
Or AU where Brian is a ghost, haunting Dexter, who starts to haunt Harrison as well.

I am really just fascinated by Harrison and want to know everything about him. He was my new favorite character in New Blood. I love the mixture of his manipulative streak, his social graces and his vulnerability and trauma, of him being legit just a mixed up teenager, but also having all this potential for becoming something a lot darker and scarier. He has a strong sense of justice and fairness, but also threw his only friend to the wolves, and I love that dichotomy.
+ Post canon. Where does he go from here? The show implies he’s broken the cycle of violence but this is fanfic—is he really free of his violent impulses/urges or do they get worse now that he’s had his first kill? Where does he go after being effectively kicked out of the only home he had? I would love to see him with Dexter as a ghost talking to him, or a kind of dark passenger, and how that works out.
+ Harrison moves in with either Astor or Cody or both. In general, I am curious what his interactions would be with his half-siblings—they both share the trauma of their mother’s death but they’re also more “normal” than Harrison ever will be. Maybe post Iron Lake, he finds his way to them. Did they ever look for him once they got older? Is Harrison angry about that? Would Astor be suspicious of him because she remembers Dexter the clearest and she doesn’t have entirely good memories of him.
+ How did he get to Iron Lake? What do the post Hannah, pre Dexter years look like for him? I feel like a lot of trauma happened to Harrison there that shaped him in addition to the pain of being abandoned by his dad and I’d love to really dig into it.
+ It strikes me that Harrison’s most long term parent was actually Hannah, of all people, and she probably had the most influence on him—which makes sense to me, because Hannah was also very good at being social and manipulative, skills Harrison excels at. I want to know more about their time together and what lessons and skills she passed on, how she handled being a solo new parent in a foreign country. I find it fascinating because Hannah is also a killer, and I wonder if she’s responsible for some of Harrison’s moral flexibility. Maybe she’s not like Dexter in the sense that she ever groom
+ AU where Harrison doesn’t get sent away by Angela. Maybe he kills Dexter, and instead Angela decides to let him move in with them—maybe just for a little while, until they figure out where Harrison can go. What are the dynamics in that household like after Harrison kills Dexter?
+ I would love to see a post canon world where Dexter is dead and known as the Bay Harbor Butcher (and arguably the most prolific American serial killer of all time???), and Harrison has to live in the shadow of that. Give me newspaper articles, interviews, people talking about him behind his back, and Harrison trying to move to a new school with that hanging over him. Especially if he still has some violent urges but now is living under a microscope.
+ I know I request a lot of Dexter/Harrison things but I would love any platonic interactions as well, especially bonding over serial killing and violent urges and generally being set apart from everyone else. I also loved it whenever Harrison was mean to Dexter and how he could win every argument by pulling the ‘well, you abandoned me” card so more of that would be great.

Depending on who you believe in canon, Santanico was held captive with Malvado for 500-1000 years. That is a lot of time to explore! I am fascinated by the way he treats her in canon, reverential, calling her a goddess, while very clearly abusing and raping her and stealing her name. Did she ever have any good feelings for him? How did she navigate and cope with him for that long? Give me more about her loss of identity. Give me the initial days, when she was human and he first entered her life, or how they evolved from a chained up captive in a temple to forced to dance on stage to lure in victims, and just the evolution of human Kisa to Santanico trying to grasp at any agency before she frees herself.
I am combining these prompts together, because I think they all work well together. A lot of my interest in Kisa/Malvado stems from an interest in Kisa’s past and backstory and my interest in this relationship that defined her so very much.

I love the thought of Malvado grooming Kisa from the very start since she was a child, and her not knowing what he is, and Malvado convinced she’s destined to be a goddess at his side, and who wouldn’t want to be that?
+ Kisa immediately upon being turned. Who was her first victim? How did she struggle against her new monsterhood? WHat’s it like going from young girl to suddenly a blood thirsty monster? Did Malvado teach her or train her or did he just go to chaining her up and decided she’ll figure it out? Or did she end up chained up because she pissed him off?
+ How did Kisa go from being chained up in the temple to dancing in a western saloon version of the Titty twister. I would love to see the evolution of her role.
+ Kisa using Carlos against Malvado, or using him to have some kind of agency and choose
Day in the life of Kisa trying to survive Malvado—obviously, rape is a foregone conclusion that I imagine she’s given up on trying to prevent, maybe she even acts like a dutiful girlfriend or kept woman in their alone time—but I would love to see her try to keep some things to herself, and the way she slowly starts to enact her plan. Venganza has a line about how a slave cannot love her monster, but she played the part and I imagine that’s how a lot of Kisa’s interactions must have gone with Malvado.
+ Anything exploring the slow slide from Kisa, young village girl, to Santanico Pandemonium, to Kisa again.
+ The Santanico/Richie relationship or Santanico/Paloma relationship, framed and put in context with what Malvado does to her; she forces Richie to be a vampire to get her own freedom, just like Malvado did, and she kidnaps and sexually abuses Paloma to get closer to Malvado. That’s all so messy.
+ Post S2—Kisa, on her own for the first time in a thousand years or so, trying to make it. I am interested in both dark, angsty fics about struggling to carve her own identity but also hopeful recovery stories where Kisa just gets to discover the world and herself.

Personally, I’d love to see the ‘mexican honeymoon’ phase be truly miserable and depressing for everyone involved, but I also love the thought of Richie being forced to turn Kate into a vampire in front of Malvado. So many moments where canon could have gone a lot of wronger.
In terms of gen, I would also love to further and more deeply explore facets of Kate’s trauma we just didn’t get to. The post possession trauma would be so interesting, living in the aftermath of the Amaru possession, or more of Kate coping with the entire dissolution of her family.

I really adore the Seth & Kate relationship, very specifically because it’s born out of really ugly circumstances, and because Seth is such a bad role model of an adult. For these ones, I’m interested in post kidnapping fic, set after s1. I want Kate having every reason to hate Seth, and maybe being unkind or nasty to him, but unable to keep herself from sympathazing with him and what he’s gone through, relating to his pain of losing their family, the two of them being kept together by that. In terms of Kate/Richie, I want almost the same things, but feel free to go in a more shippier direction with them. I do really love their canon interactions, with Kate defending Richie and believing there’s some good in him, and how that crumbles in season two. I’d love to see more of the season one era where she’s trying to manipulate him to escape, but also has some kind of real feelings and fascination with him as well. I’d love AUs when they go off together at the end of season one instead, and now she’s the one developing stockholm syndrome esque feelings for him.

I have always thought that Kate Fuller never got her due. FDTD is one of my favorite shows but the canon moves so fast that there's no time to really stop and explore the trauma the characters go through, and I really felt that with Kate. I would love a much deeper dive at her time with either Gecko and a focus on the impact they had on her life falling apart. I'd love a focus on her mental state trying to survive her kidnapping, only to never truly be able to go home again. I love the dynamic between her and Seth post S1, but I'm especially interested at the trauma of a teenage girl trying to hold a grown man together with very little material and psychological resources. I don't ship them at all but I love how horribly inappropriate their relationship is and all the ways Kate is forced to grow up. I do ship Kate/Richie, and love the thought of Kate/Richie AUs where she ends up running off with him instead, and anything that balances Kate's fascination with Richie with her fear of him would be perfect.

+ Their awkward summer in Mexico, barely scraping by, living in cheap motels, their car stolen. I like the thought of them, for a moment, feeling like they could run away from their problems successfully, then reality crashes down on them, and their break from their lives turns into another problem they wanna escape, and now they have to deal with losing their families. In general, I like the trope of two people going through trauma clinging to each other, except with Seth and Kate, that codependency doesn’t actually make their lives better or provide comfort. It just makes things worse.
+ Seth getting high on heroin and the things Kate has to endure from him while he’s high. Having to take care of her kidnapper and make sure he doesn’t choke on his own vomit. Seth in general, being a hot mess, and Kate having to deal with (or opting to not deal with it! She just leaves him to his own devices and doesn’t come back to the motel room for a while).
+ In general, I am fascinated by their pairing because I think Kate needs an adult in Mexico to get around and support her in some way but Seth is also the worst adult, and Kate ends up taking care of him more often than not.
+ Also, Kate getting Seth high because he asked her to and it makes her sooo uncomfortable. How did she end up in this situation? Or Kate doing it to end an argument or get away from him.
+ I loved Kate telling him she didn’t forgive him in S3, even after he was trying so hard to save her. The show never really had time to linger and explore those feelings, but I would like to. Kate is a good Christian girl and she also has a lot of empathy for Seth as well but the demon possessing her brings out all those ugly negative emotions she tries to hide.
+ I’ve been haunted by that “Kate as Richie’s knife throwing girl” comment since she said it. I would love to see them as a pair and making money that way.
+ I really love Kate’s defense of Richie to Freddie when she tries to insist he can’t be a serial killer. And she’s right! But he’s still a terrible person so I’d love to lean into the vibes of her being fascinated, sympathetic towards him and scared of him all at once.
+ Any instance of vampire Richie and human Kate stuck together; him having to take care of her or keep her safe, Kate being around this big guy she had a crush on when he was human, and still has a crush on now even when he’s terrifying and has sharp teeth.
+ Or have Richie actually turn her into a vampire when Malvado demands in season two. Or turn her as she lays dying. Roll around in that hot mess.

This also works very well for me with the son with his pedophile dad—getting older and learning what your dad did to you is awful and a crime but the kid won’t leave or turn him in or report him.

My interest in this is can be summed up as kids "kids/teens raised in a way that is completely counter from normal and feeling fucked up about it." For the first request, I am really interested in the inherent horrific tragedy of being groomed from a young age by your dad and soaking up all that attention only for him to lose interest once you become an older teen, with the teen missing their dad's attentions even though it was clearly abusive. It's okay to write lurid depraved porn for this request (as well as serial killer dad/son), but if you want to write pedophile father/traumatized son when the son is under twelve years old, I want the sexual content off-screen, alluded to, or mentioned, rather than depicted explicitly on screen.
For the second. I would love for the son character to be horrified and scared of his father but also intrigued by the serial killing, and/or perhaps gaslight or groomed into thinking this is normal. I'd love to see the moment where he realizes this is not okay. I'd love for the father character to genuinely love his son but also, he's a monster.

One of the things that most fascinates me is Alex going from being mostly a shut-in, living with vampires, not going to school, to being a functional high schooler, or acting the part of one. I want to see her struggle more in “normal” environments and trying hard to fake it. I love to see her struggle with being a normal person after her main interactions with others was luring them to their deaths. I also love the effects of long term captivity on her, and how strange and alien it feels to be free after all the time.

Alex will never be the same little girl who was kidnapped ever again, but that doesn’t mean she can’t be someone new, different, better.

Both Alex and Jody have a lot of trauma, so them comforting each other—maybe not openly, maybe just supporting each other day to day, or with physical trauma—is lovely.
Alex is one of my favorite minor characters on SPN. I am very intrigued by her backstory; raised by vampires, used as bait, fed on by vampires that called themselves her family. The thought of being forced to rely on the people who murdered your family for care and shelter, until they eventually become your family, is very compelling to me, in terms of the psychological damage. I'd love anything that digs into that time in her life. For Alex & Jody, I like how they're both using each other in some way--Alex needs an adult to take care of her, and Jody wants a replacement child in her life--but it grows into something geuinely loving, and I'm very soft about 'abused child finally finds a safe space' tropes. I'm especially interested in Alex adjusting from living on the run at the fringes of society, to being in high school and interacting with normal people.

+ Anything exploring the Alex&Jody relationship. I love that they are in some ways, projection 4 projection—Jody needs Alex because she is a mother missing a child, and Alex needs her because she’s a teenager without a mom—but that doesn’t mean their relationship to each other is insincere or they don’t value each other. Them making their own little family together is beautiful to me.
+ I love the episode where Alex is haunted by her vampire past and that vampire comes to attack her and kill her family, and Jody’s reaction. I would love to see more of the fall out of that.
+ I love Claire & Alex and Claire/Alex, so if you want to write something focusing on their relationship, especially when they’re still in the stages of hating each other, that would be great.

One of my favorite noncon scenarios is raped by someone who looks like a loved one—whether it’s a demon pretending to be a loved one, hallucinations, Lucifer making himself look like Dean, soulless Sam nonconning Dean, Demon Dean nonconning Sam, etc—and the resulting aftermath being around that loved one later. I love all the trauma surrounding this but I would also love it if Sam or Dean still feel safe around each other, while the other brother feels incredibly guilty and is wondering why they aren’t a walking trigger.

Or maybe Dean with ravishment fantasies that Sam is happy to give to him, but he’s concerned about where they came from. Or post hell Sam has rape fantasies, but his lean on a more masochistic side.

For SA/CSA survivor aspect, I tend to like Dean/John as being the source of Dean’s trauma, but I don’t expect anyone to write that—making it a stranger, or another hunter, or Deacon or someone else in Dean’s life works for me as well.

Sam having massive identity issues after Gadreel possession, or coming back from hell, or struggling with his hallucinations, or just his entire sense of self destabilized after multiple violations. Up to you if you want to write something that comforts the comforts or proves them right.

Maybe these are Lucifer hallucinations, or maybe the wall breaking triggers other kinds of hallucinations instead, but I’d be into a look in which Sam learns to live with them instead of making them go away, or if he gets psychological treatment that helps, like going on anti-psychotics.

I like the thought of Dean being raped (in hell? By Alistair? By John? Choose your own Adventure) and Sam also being raped (by Lucifer? Or as a teenager? By Meg?), but both of them respond totally differently to that trauma, and aren’t sure how to support each other with their rape trauma once they both find out. But they’re trying.

I love this for Dean after his stint as a demon, or Sam after having his soul restored.

This show just runs on trauma. There's a lot of stuff I'd like to read here, so just play with whatever freeform that interests you.
-> Sex pollen/fuck or die issues: Sam/Dean forced into sex (maybe first time sex) and the resulting trauma of both of them trying to deal with that.
-> Exploring the canon hell traumas they both have, how it differs, how it overlaps, how they're both the only two people who gone through the same thing.

It’s hard being her child.

Callie’s scared to do it but if her mom can do it, so can she—and Shauna is actually proud of her daughter after all.

I think this goes both ways. Callie sort of represents a lot of traumatic things to Shauna, and Shauna has fucked up a lot with Callie or even put her in arm’s way but they’re devoted to each other.

I think this ship latched on to me when Callie was all dressed up in Jackie’s clothes in front of her mother, and then intensified with that whole mutually assured conversation. I love how messy this relationship is and the potential for ugliness within it. I love that Callie has such a contentious relationship with her mom but s2 showed that she’d kill for her, that all she wants is her mom’s approval.
I think a lot of my feelings lean towards gen but I’m very into the trauma of Callie growing up under Jackie’s shadow, with a mom who is too traumatized to be a good parent, who low key hates her some days, and Callie desperate for some kind of connection. I would love to take all their canon issues and how that manifests into something sexual and creepy and incestuous, however that happens.
Note: I don’t require Jackie/Shauna to be canon or something that happened in the past for this required—I do read a lot of Shauna’s issues as due to an unrequited crush on Jackie, but it’s not necessary.
